What if you could not only see an exhibition, but listen to it too?
For the exhibition Inuit. Impressions from the Canadian Far North, Créahmbxl presents a unique sound walk featuring eight audio pieces inspired by a selection of artworks. This is not a traditional audio guide. The sound walk invites you to discover the exhibition in a different way — through the eyes and ears of artists who enter into a dialogue with the artworks.
The Créahmbxl artists do not set out to explain the artworks. Instead, they build on them. A shape, an animal, a presence or even a silence can become the starting point for a story, an emotion, a question or an imagined world. Each audio piece opens up a new space where the artworks can continue to live, resonate and inspire new interpretations.
The works of Inuit artists and those of the Créahmbxl artists come together in surprising ways. Despite their different geographical and cultural backgrounds, they share a powerful imagination, a strong connection with the living world, an attention to storytelling and the ability to evoke new worlds.
The sound walk is the result of a collaboration between the Créahmbxl artists and sound artists Léonore Frenois, Justin Gistelinck and Rozemarijn De Keyser. Together, they have created a unique listening experience combining voices and soundscapes. Each audio piece invites you to slow down, listen closely and discover the exhibition from a different perspective.
Through this project, the Art & History Museum and Créahmbxl share a common belief: artists with intellectual disabilities are not only audiences to be welcomed into cultural institutions. They are also artists and creators whose unique perspectives can enrich and renew the way we experience art. The sound walk invites every visitor to enter into a dialogue between different worlds of imagination — worlds that meet, inspire one another and invite us to see art in a new way.

Créahmbxl (Création et Handicap Mental) is an artistic experimentation laboratory offering visual and performing arts workshops to people with intellectual disabilities. The artists develop their own creative practices in an environment that balances freedom and learning. Supported by artist-facilitators, they explore and enrich their individual artistic worlds. With an open and inclusive approach, Créahmbxl develops collaborations and partnerships with museums and cultural institutions in Belgium and internationally. These partnerships help bring the artists’ work to a wider audience and contribute to greater visibility and recognition of their artistic practices.
