Library of Antiquity
The collections of this library are associated with the Department of Antiquity and the library itself is subdivided into three large sections:
- Egypt (pre-pharaonic and pharaonic Egypt, papyrology and Coptic studies);
- the Old Near East (Assyria and Iran);
- Classical Antiquity (Greece, Etruria and Rome).
The catalogue can be consulted via the ALEPH library system and are part of LIBIS-Net, Belgium’s largest library network.

ACCESS, RATES AND OPENING HOURS
Persons wishing to access the libraries are required to register. Upon registration, they will receive a reader’s card which is valid until 30 September of the year following the date of registration and which gives access to all RMAH catalogues.
Tuesdays to Fridays: 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon and 1.15 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
School holidays: 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Closed on official feast days and from 24 December to 3 January, inclusive, and from 14 to 21 April 2014.
Save those in the reading room, all works are kept under lock and key and can be consulted only on request and only on the spot; no works are lent out.
Copies are available solely in black-and-white and may be made only by the library staff.
