Library of Antiquity

The collections of this library are associated with the Department of Antiquity and the library itself is subdivided into three large sections:

  • Egypt (pre-pharaonic and pharaonic Egypt, papyrology and Coptic studies);
  • the Old Near East (Assyria and Iran);
  • Classical Antiquity (Greece, Etruria and Rome).

Each year, the libraries are added to with gifts from the Georges Dossin Assyriological Centre and the Queen Elisabeth Egyptological Society.
